Dourbies is a remote village at the top of the Dourbie Gorge. It’s not noted for anything in particular, but it’s location. It does have a municipal camp site right on the river with a nice sized pool and beach [see upper photo]. It’s almost entirely French and in the holidays the kids running a bit too free at times! On our first visit we were asked by one of the locals how we had found the place? They rarely see the British.
The river next to the camp site has plenty of swimming spots. There’s the big pool with beach, a natural Jacuzzi pool and lots of smaller pools. You can walk upstream and find more pools, or downstream into the main part of the gorge. See Dourbie Gorge post.
